The Misericordia University baseball team took a doubleheader from King's to complete the series sweep, Thursday.
MU won 7-2, 13-5 to improve to 21-11 overall and 11-4 in the MAC Freedom.
Derrick Vosburg had three hits and
Brock Bollinger hit a three-run homer.Â
Brady Madden had two hits and
Owen VanNewkirk drove in two runs.
Isaac Snyder struck out eight over 4.1 innings to earn the win.
Joe Valenti scattered nine hits over six innings to earn the win in the nightcap.
Vosburg and
Joe Comins had three hits each and Madden had a double and a triple.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the second inning of the opener when Vosburg doubled to lead off the second and scored on VanNewkirk's two-out single.
Madden doubled to open the fourth inning and came home on Vosburg's single through the right side. MU took advantage of an error and to hit batters to tack on two more runs and take a 4-0 lead.
Madden singled to lead off the fifth and went to third on Vosburg's double before Bollinger's homer made it 7-0.
The Cougars took control of the nightcap with a seven-run third inning.
Madden had an RBI-triple and
Brendan Gray added a two-run double to fuel the rally.
