The Misericordia University baseball team dropped a doubleheader to Arcadia, 11-3, 4-0, Saturday at Tambur Field.
In the first game,
Connor Maryniak went 3-3 with a run scored while
Derrick Vosburg drove in two runs and
Santino Manganella had a run scored and an RBI.
Vosburg and Owen Van Newkirk collected hits in the second game.
Austin Miles went 1-3 with a stolen base.
The Knights jumped out to a five-run lead through three innings.
Maryniak singled up the middle and advanced to second on a passed ball in the bottom of the third. Â After a Garrett McIlhenny walk, Manganella delivered an RBI single up the middle that scored Maryniak.
Two batters later, Vosburg doubled to right-center to make it 5-3.
Isaac Snyder pitched five innings and struck out two in the afternoon's second game while absorbing the loss.
Miles singled up the middle in the bottom of the fifth and Vosburg and Van Newkirk recorded back-to-back singles in the bottom of the seventh.
Misericordia will travel to Arcadia for the series finale, Sunday.
