FDU-Florham used a big second quarter on the way to a 19-6 win over Misericordia University in women's lacrosse action, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.
The Cougars led 3-2 midway through the first quarter before the Devils scored seven straight goals.
Alyssa Delgadillo and
Alyssa Grieco led the Cougars with two goals each and
Genevieve Montanye had a goal and an assist.
Molly Celesky had a goal and
Michelle Torzilli scored twice.
Torzilli and
Rachel Shook had three caused turnovers and
Maggie McGovern made nine saves in goal.
Grieco gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead with a man-up goal less than three minutes into the game.
The Devils tied it a minute later and Celesky answered to give MU a 2-1 lead with 9:45 to go in the first quarter.
After a Devils goal, Delgadillo put MU back in front with 6:52 to play in the first period.
FDU-Florham tied it less than a minute later and scored six straight goals to open the second quarter.
The Cougars are 8-6 overall and 4-2 in the MAC Freedom and will visit DeSales, Wednesday.
