The Misericordia University softball team split a non-conference doubleheader at Marywood, Sunday.
The Cougars took the opener, 11-6, but dropped game two, 9-6.
In the opener,
Kaitlin Redling had two hits, including a three-run homer, and
Kaitlyn Slusser had a two-run single.
Antonia Pacillo added three hits and scored three runs.
Alexa McHugh struck out three in two scoreless innings to earn the win.
Redling hit a three-run homer in the top of the first of game one and
Nicole Elliott hit a two-run double in the second.
Sophia DeFebo doubled in a run in the fifth to give the Cougars a 6-0 lead.
Slusser singled in two runs in the sixth and another scored on an error to make it 9-2.
The Cougars added some insurance runs in the seventh on a double by
Antonia Pacillo and an RBI-single by
Zariah Alvin.
In the nightcap, Redling, Bri Holder,
Brianna Burd and Pacillo all had two hits.
Marywood rallied for five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take its first lead of the game.
