Walsh Scores Two Late Goals to Rescue Field Hockey at Moravian

Morgan Walsh scored her second goal of the game as time expired in overtime to give the Misericordia University field hockey team a 3-2 win at Moravian, Saturday afternoon.

Olivia Kempf added a goal and Meghan Radnoff and Tatyanna Lainez both had two assists for the Cougars.

Sarah Bogina made four saves to earn the win in goal.

Walsh scored the game-tying goal in the final minute of regulation and added the game-winner in the closing seconds of OT.

Moravian broke a scoreless tie with a pair of goals less than a minute apart to take a 2-0 lead early in the second period.

Kempf scored a rebound goal early in the third period to cut the deficit in half.

Moravian used three defensive saves to maintain the lead, but the Cougars capitalized on penalty corners at the end of regulation and OT.

Lainez inserted a corner to Radnoff who found Walsh who placed a perfect shot into the left corner of the cage to tie the game with 21 seconds remaining in regulation.

Radnoff made a defensive save with less than five minutes left in overtime.

After Moravian made a defensive save on a MU corner with 17 seconds to go, the trio of Lainez-Radnoff-Walsh connected on the next corner for the game-winner.

Misericordia is 2-0 and travel to Ithaca, Wednesday.
