Lily Metress had a hat trick to lead the Misericordia University field hockey team to a 5-0 win over King's, Wednesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.

Maddie Griscavage added a goal and an assist and
Emily Ervin scored a goal.

Misericordia held a commanding 26-1 edge in shots and 14-2 in corners.

The Cougars took a 1-0 lead with less than a minute remaining in the first quarter. Griscavage dribbled to the end line before passing to Metress near the left post where her diagonal shot found the right side of the cage.

MU made 2-0 just over a minute into the second period on a perfect penalty corner. Ervin's insert found
Morgan Walsh at the top of the circle and she played a pass back to Ervin who slammed it home inside the left post.

Misericordia tacked on three insurance goals in the fourth quarter. Metress stuffed home her own rebound at 46:37 and Griscavage scored on a rebound nine minutes later.

Metress collected a loose ball off a deflection and pushed a shot inside the right post to give MU a 5-0 lead less than a minute to play.

MU will conclude the season when they host FDU-Florham, Saturday at 5:00.
