The Misericordia University women's volleyball team wrapped up its MAC Freedom schedule with a tough 3-1 loss at Lebanon Valley.

The Cougars dropped the first two sets, 25-22, 25-19, but rallied to take the third set, 25-23. Leb Val won the finale, 25-21, to clinch the number two in next week's MAC Freedom championships.

Meghan Peters led the Cougars with 12 kills and two aces and
Cassandra Genduso had 10 kills, two aces and two blocks.

Fiona Pyfer had nine kills, nine digs and two blocks and
Jenna Schuda had 34 assists.

The Cougars scored four straight points to take a 10-6 lead in the opening set, but Lebanon Valley answered with five straight points to take the lead for good.

MU used a 6-1 run, including aces by
Adele Decker and Genduso, to get within 19-17 in the second set, but the Dutchmen closed on a 6-2 run.

In a back-and-forth third set, the Cougars used two attack errors to break a 22-22 tie and closed the win on a kill from Genduso.

The Cougars used two kills by Pyfer and a Peters ace to key a 6-0 run to tie the fourth set, 12-12.

Leb Val scored three straight points to go ahead for good, 21-17.
