Jocelyn Grosch scored 19 points and
Skylar Bianchi had a double-double to lead the Misericordia University women's basketball team to 60-57 win over SUNY-Morrisville in the Morrisville Tip-Off Tournament, Friday.
Bianchi had 17 points and 10 rebounds and
Skylar Dowling added 14 points, including a pair of free throws in the final minute, to clinch the win.
Misericordia jumped out to an early lead and held off a late charge by the Mustangs to improve to 3-1.
Morrisville scored the game's first bucket, but Grosch hits three straight three-pointers and the Cougars went on a 23-7 run over the final 7:44 of the first quarter to take a 23-9 lead.
The Mustangs pulled within two points late in the second quarter, but Bianchi's lay-up at the buzzer gave MU a 34-30 halftime lead.
Bianchi and Grosch both scored back-to-back baskets to give MU a 47-36 lead late in the third quarter.
Morrisville chipped away and got within 58-57 with less than a minute to play, but Dowling hit two free to clinch the win.
MU will play Amherst or SUNY-Oswego in Saturday's championship game.
