Colleen Kinsella scored the game-winning goal early in the second overtime to lift the nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 2-1 win over Stevens in the MAC Freedom Championship match, Saturday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.

Kinsella buried a header inside the left post on a perfect service from
Brenna Field from just outside the left corner of the box.

The Cougars won their 11
th straight match to improve to 15-3-1 and claim their third straight MAC Freedom title and an automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

Emma Sweitzer gave the Cougars an early lead with an unassisted goal at 2:09 and Stevens tied it early in the second half.

Caitlin Somerville was named the MAC Freedom Championships Most Valuable Player.

Lauren Mondor made five saves in goal.

The Cougars came out swarming off the opening tap and earned a corner in the opening minute.Â
Maegan Allspach's header caromed off the bottom of the crossbar at 1:17.

It didn't take long for the Cougars to get another opportunity and this time, they converted. Sweitzer received a ball and turned on her defender and carried into the box and slotted a shot inside the right post from eight yards out for a 1-0 at 2:09.

Julia Beck had a blast on a direct kick from 25 yards that was saved at 14:37.

Sabrina Competiello carried into the right side of box and rolled a pass across the middle to Kinsella, but her shot was saved in the 42
nd minute.

Mondor had a couple of easy saves early in the second half before making a diving stop on a shot from 10 yards out at 51:24.

Stevens tied it at 54:19 and held off several MU opportunities over the final 35 minutes.

Sweitzer nearly put the Cougars in front just six minutes later, but her shot was deflected off the crossbar.

th minute, but her shot curved around the right post.

Allspach gathered a loose ball in the box in the 72
nd minute, but the Ducks' keeper came off her line to make the stop.
