The Misericordia University women's basketball team used a big fourth quarter to pull out a 50-44 win at Lycoming, Tuesday.
Alyssa Bondi scored a game-high 18 points and
Gianna Delfino added 12 points for the Cougars.
Bondi's three-pointer early in the fourth quarter gave MU its first lead since the first quarter as the Cougars overcame a 10-point deficit.
Elizabeth Fasti added a three-pointer as the teams exchanged baskets before Bondi hit another three to put MU in front for good, 46-44, with 2:58 to play.
Delfino hit s short jumper and Bondi and
Melina Santacroce added free throws in the final minute to secure the win.
Bondi's three-pointer gave the Cougars a 5-2 lead, but Lycoming went on a 16-0 run over the final 6:00 of the first quarter to take an 18-5 lead.
Lycoming stretched its lead to 25-8 midway through the second quarter, but MU closed the period on a 7-0 run.
Santacroce made consecutive buckets and Delfino converted a three-point play to close the half with MU down, 25-15.
Bondi made a jump shot to end the third period to cut the margin to 39-32 to set the stage for the fourth-quarter rally.
