The Misericordia University softball team ended its spring trip with a split, Friday in Kissimmee, Florida.

After dropping the opener to Rochester, 13-0, in five innings, the Cougars beat Husson, 5-3.

Brianna Burd had the lone hit for MU against Rochester.

Against Husson,
Kaitlin Redling homered and had two hits while
Gianna Foreman added two hits.
Â
The Cougars took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first and added two more runs in the third.

After Husson got one ack in the top of the fifth, the Cougars answered with a run in their half.

In the first,
Bridget Doherty drew a lead-off walk and moved to second on Redling's two-out single to left. Foreman singled to right to drive in a run and
Gianna Russo made it 2-0 on an infield single.

McHugh singled through the left side to open the third inning and moved up on a passed ball.Â
Nicole Elliott drove in a run with a single and eventually scored on a throwing error to make it 4-0.

Redling's solo homer in the fifth made 5-1.

McHugh struck out ix to earn the complete-game win.
