The Misericordia University League of Legends team returned from its bye week with a convincing 2-0 win over Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Sunday.

The Cougars showed no signs of rust in the opener as top laner Luke Kreller picked up the first elimination early in the game. Jungler Jacob Prest and support Daniel Sayre applied pressure to every lane throughout the early portion of the game, especially with an early jungle invade giving jungle and mid lane Jackson Grippa some early pressure.  ADC Shayne Spencer was aggressive throughout the mid to late game which allowed the Cougars to take the first match, 24-6.

The second match started off slow as the Cougars fell into a 3-1 deficit, but things turned around with a fight in the river. Top laner Kreller and jungler Grippa took an early fight that lasted just long enough for mid laner Zach Hemond to roam up and secure the objective and double elimination. Down in the bot lane, ADC Zackary Grovsner and support Quinn Lachman handled their lane.

The Cougars won the second match, 29-15, to secure their third win of the season and will continue their regular season against Western Virginia Wesleyan College, Wednesday.
