The Misericordia University softball team split a pair of games at the Spring Games, Monday in Kissimmee, FL.

The Cougars beat Keyon, 7-0, in the opener and fell to College of St. Benedict, 7-0, in game two.

Alexa McHugh struck out eight and allowed just one hit over five innings.
Â
McHugh helped herself with three RBI and
Gianna Russo and
Emma Griffin both homered and
Gianna Foreman had two hits.

Against St. Benedict,
Sophia DeFebo scattered six hits over five innings.
Â
The Bennies broke open a 1-0 game with three runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

In the opener, Russo gave the Cougars the lead with a solo homer to right center in the bottom of the third.Â

The Cougars took advantage of a fielding error to load the bases I the fourth and McHugh cleared them a with a three-run double to make it 4-0.

Kaitlin Redling led off the fifth inning with a double and came home on Gianna Forman's double. Griffin followed with a two-run home to make it 7-0.

Against St. Benedict,
Mackenzie Fizer and
Ryan Zimmerman had hits for MU.

MU will face Gordon and St. Joseph's Maine, Tuesday.
