The Misericordia University softball team swept a pair of games in a key MAC Freedom doubleheader at King's, Wednesday.
 
Alexa McHugh threw 10 innings a 4-2 win in the opener and drove in the winning run in the seventh inning in a 3-2 win in the nightcap.
 
In game one, Gianna Foreman had two hits and two RBI and Bridget Doherty and Kaitlin Redling added two hits.  Nicole Elliott reached via HBP three times and scored twice.
 
Down 2-0 in the sixth inning of the opener, Elliott was hit by pitch with one out and moved to third on Redling's double to left center.  Foreman followed with a two-run double to left to tie the game.
 
The score stood until the 10^th when Elliott singled up the middle to give MU a 3-2 lead.  Redling reached on an error and Elliott came all the way around to score to put MU up, 4-2.
 
McHugh struck out 10 and didn't allow a walk.
 
King's took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first of game two. 
 
Elliott was hit by pitch with one out in the fourth and came around to score on Redling's double into the left field corner.  Foreman doubled again to put MU ahead, 2-1.
 
King's tied it with an unearned run in the fourth.
 
Emily Susanj led off the seventh with a single through the left side to start the game-winning rally.  Pinch-runner Olivia Hull moved up on Brianna Burd's sacrifice bunt and McHugh lofted a pinch-hit sacrifice fly to right with the winning run.
