The Misericordia University women's tennis team opened the season with a 5-4 win at Cortland, Friday.
Lydia Barbour won twice for the Cougars, including a come-from-behind tiebreaker win with
Hailey Loughlin at second doubles.
Barbour,
Brianna Pizzano and
Gabrielle Chantiloupe added singles wins while
Emily Brecker and
Erin Cridge won at first doubles.
Brecker and Cridge won 8-3 at first doubles and Barbour and Loughlin rallied for an 8-7 (8-6) win at second doubles.
Pizzano won 6-4, 6-2 at first singles and Barbour won 6-2, 6-0 at third singles.
Chantiloupe won 6-2, 6-2 at sixth singles.
Pizzano, Brecker, Barbour and Loughlin will compete at the ITA Regional Championships, Saturday.
