#13 Leb Val Rallied to Down MU Men's Soccer

#13 Lebanon Valley scored four goals in the final 20 minutes to rally to a 5-2 win over the Misericordia University men's soccer team in their MAC Freedom opener, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.

Alfred Romano scored both goals for the Cougars with assists from Adam Korme and Anthony Numssen.

Brandon Ebersole nearly gave the Cougars the lead in the 16th minute, but his volley from 25 yards out was tipped over the bar by the LVC keeper.

The Dutchmen threatened in the 34th minute with a shot off the left post and rebound was cleared by Korme.

MU's Charlton Alonso made a diving stop a minute later, but the Dutchmen tapped in the rebound for a 1-0 lead at 34:17.

The Cougars answered when Korme played a long ball over the top and Romano headed it into the upper left corner at 37:56.

Patrick Sipera nearly gave the Cougars the lead early in the second half with a rip from the left wing, but the Dutchmen keeper made the save and also stopped Eric Goldberg's header on the rebound.

Nicholas Passiniti received a through ball and carried into the box, but his shot from 15 yards found the keeper.

Max Gariano gave the Cougars another solid chance when he beat his defender in the box, but the Dutchmen keeper was again up to the task.

MU finally cashed in when Numssen carried down the right side and rolled a perfect pass all the way across the box where Romano touched back inside the right post for a 2-1 lead at 69:40.

The Dutchmen answered with two goals in the next four minutes and added two more in the final eight minutes.
