Anthony DePalma became the first player in program history to reach the 1,000 kill mark to lead the nationally-ranked Misericordia University men's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Lancaster Bible, Tuesday night on Doc Mould Court.
DePalma led MU with 14 kills while
Jared Piontkowski added 11 kills and
Zane Martin had eight kills and three blocks.
Gannon DeFrain had 33 assists and
Jackson Fehnel added three blocks as the Cougars improved to 5-1.
Martin had two kills as the Cougars built a 17-11 in the opening set and Piontkowski had two kills as part of 5-1 run to close out a 25-17 win.
After Lancaster Bible took the second set 25-13, the Cougars rebounded to take the crucial third set, 28-26.Â
Matt Albrecht earned four straight service points as Misericordia built a 7-2 lead, but the Chargers rallied and eventually pulled even, 21-21.
DePalma had a kill and ace to clinch the win.
Jackson Fehnel had a kill and an ace as part of a 5-0 run to break a 14-14 tie in the finale.Â
