The Misericordia University men's volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Cougar Kickoff Classic, Friday night in the Anderson Center.
The Cougars beat New Jersey City University, 3-1, before falling to Nichols in a battle of nationally-ranked teams, 3-1.
After dropping the opener against NJCU, the Cougars rallied to win three straight.
Jared Piontkowski led the team with 22 kills while
Anthony DePalma had 10 and
Jackson Fehnel added nine.Â
Gannon DeFrain had 47 assists and three aces.
DePalma had 14 kills and 11 digs against Nichols and Piontkowski had 11 kills.
Ben Clendening had four blocks.
MU will play Drew and Rutgers-Newark, Saturday.
