The Lebanon Valley women's basketball team used a big third quarter on the way to a 67-42 win over Misericordia University, Wednesday night in the Anderson Center.
Down 33-31 midway through the third quarter, the Cougars were on the wrong end of a 19-2 run over the final 6:13 of the period to fall behind, 52-33.
Skylar Dowling and
Jocelyn Grosch had 10 points each to lead the Cougars.
The Cougars grabbed an early 4-0 lead on a layup form
Caitlin Landgraf and a floater along the right baseline from
Alyssa Bondi.
The Lady Dutchmen used a pair of 7-0 runs to take a 14-7 lead late in the first quarter.
Dowling sank a floater from the left baseline and
Skylar Bianchi made a turnaround jumper in the lane to get MU within 14-11 after one period.
Bondi used a pump-fake to make a 10-footer on the right baseline to give the Cougars a 17-16 lead with 6:13 to go in the second quarter.
Lebanon Valley closed the half on a 5-0 run to take a 29-23 lead.
Bianchi's layup got MU within a bucket with 6:28 to play in the third quarter, but the Cougars were held to just two points the rest of period.
