The Misericordia women's basketball team fell to Stevens Institute of Technology, 59-42, Saturday afternoon in Hoboken, NJ.
Skylar Bianchi lead the Cougars with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
Jocelyn Grosch added 13 points.
Grosch drilled a three-pointer to give MU a 5-4 lead five minutes into the game and Bianchi added a jump shot followed by another Grosch three-pointer to put MU up 10-6.
Tied 10-10 after one period, the Ducks opened the second quarter on a 15-8 run to take a 25-17 lead.
Grosch opened the second quarter with a driving layup to give MU a 14-13 lead. Stevens rallied to take a 25-14 lead before Bianchi ended the quarter with a driving layup.
Skylar Dowling scored first in the third quarter on a jumper to make the score 25-19. Both teams traded baskets but the Ducks continued to hold the lead. Â
With 6:54 remaining in the third period, Bianchi completed two layups to tighten the gap, 31-26.
Caitlin Landgraf and Grosch completed free throws to bring the score to 34-31. Stevens went on a nine-point run to take the lead 31-43 with 1:22 remaining in the third quarter.
Stevens used an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
