The Misericordia University field hockey team dropped a tough 3-0 Homecoming decision to Arcadia, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Knights took a 1-0 lead late in the first quarter and added a pair of second-half goals.

Ava Cirigliano gave the Cougars their first solid scoring chance midway through the second quarter. Off a penalty corner, Cirigliano's blast from the right side of the circle was turned away to keep MU scoreless.

Later in the period,
Kiele George-Peterman gave MU another chance when she dribbled through three defenders and drew a foul. Off the re-start, her blast from the right flank was wide of the left post with 3:00 to go before halftime.

After Arcadia made it 2-0 on a penalty stroke, the Cougars attempted to answer off a penalty corner.Â
Lily Metress' shot from the left side of the circle was tipped in front by
Emily Ervin, but was knocked down by the Knights' goalie.
