Lily Heistand scored twice to lead the sixth-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team to a 5-1 win at Delaware Valley, Tuesday night.
Olivia Maniskas,
Sabrina Competiello and
Addison McDonough added goals as the Cougars improved to 12-1-2 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom.
Maniskas chipped a shot over the Del Val keeper into an empty net following a deflection to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead at 1:42.
Heistand scored twice in a little over two minutes to make it 3-0 midway through the first half.
Her first goal came on a break away where she beat the Aggies keeper who had come well off her line and tapped a shot into the open net at 22:30.
Heistand added a goal just over a minute later when she re-directed a pass from
Caitlin Somerville inside the right post from just six yards out at 24:46.
Competiello added a goal just over 10 minutes later and McDonough closed out the scoring for MU just over a minute prior to halftime.
Maniskas weaved through the Aggies defense and fired a shot from the right flank that was saved in front, where Competiello buried the rebound to extend the lead to 4-0 at 35:29.
Alyssa Steenback threaded a diagonal pass to McDonough down the right side and she touched the ball into box before burying a shot into the upper right corner to give the Cougars a 5-0 lead at 43:56.
