Misericordia University has announced two changes to its men's and women's wrestling coaching staffs.

Josh Roosa will serve as director of wrestling and head men's coach for the 2024-25 season while Mark Stauffer has been named interim head coach of women's wrestling.

Both teams will open their inaugural seasons this weekend with the women's team hosting Frostburg State and the men's squad travelling to the Lycoming Invitational.

Roosa is looking forward to the challenge of his new role.  "I am excited for the opportunity and the challenge of working with two programs in their inaugural seasons," said Roosa.  "We talk with our student-athletes daily about getting out of their comfort zone and embracing challenge and that is exactly what I plan to do.

Roosa is also looking forward to working with Stauffer, who is in his 25^th season at the helm of the nationally-ranked MU women's soccer team.  Stauffer was a four-year letterman in wrestling at nearby Benton High School where he was part of two Pennsylvania state championship teams.

"I would like to thank Mark Stauffer for stepping up and accepting the challenge of serving as interim head coach of the women's team," said Roosa.  "I am excited to work alongside and learn from one of the best."

Additionally, Roosa is grateful for the opportunity to continue to grow and promote the sport of wrestling at Misericordia. "I would like to thank our Athletics Director Chuck Edkins for putting his trust in coach Stauffer, our graduate assistant Noah Gilbert and myself to build an elite women's collegiate wrestling program and providing these young women with a great experience."

Misericordia will conduct a national search for a head women's wrestling coach at the conclusion of the season.
