The Misericordia University women's volleyball team picked up its first conference win with a 3-1 victory over Delaware Valley, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.
Meghan Peters and
Cassandra Genduso had 14 kills each and
Keira McCaffrey added 11 kills and five blocks.
Genduso added four aces and
Jenna Schuda had 45 assists and 11 digs.Â
Jessica Cleveland had 12 digs.
The Cougars cruised to a 25-9 win in the opener and took the second set, 25-19.
Del Val stayed alive with a 25-23 win and the Cougars took the nightcap, 25-16.
Genduso and McCaffrey combined for five kills as the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 9-2 lead in the opener.
MU took advantage of five straight errors to stretch their lead to 24-8.
Peters and
Madison Tullo had two kills each as the Cougars scored six straight points to take a 23-18 lead in the second set.
Two DVU errors closed out a 25-19 win.
The Aggies scored six straight points to come from behind and take a 17-15 lead in the third set.
Peters sandwiched two kills around an ace by Journey to key a 7-0 run that gave MU a 12-6 and the Cougars never looked back in the finale.
