MU Women Win Cougar Splash

The Misericordia University women's swim team won the team title at the Cougar Splash, Saturday at Dallas Middle School.

The Cougars scored 400 points to win by more than 100 points over runner-up Widener in the six-team field.

Kaylee DePietro (58.83) set a new school record while winning the 100 back and swam the lead league of the winning 200 medley relay team that set a pool record of 1:48.57.  She was joined by Lindsey Rice, Cali White and Tori Ellex.
 
Ellex (53.08) and White finished 1-2 in the 100 free while White (1:58.02) won the 200 free with Ellex in second.
 
Rice won the 100 breast (1:08.01) and 200 breast (2:31.25).
 
Tamsin Formon (18:18.37) won the 1650 free and was second in the 400 IM while Lilly Bernard was fourth.  Formon and Caroline Kovacs were third and fifth, respectively, in the 200 fly.
 
DePietro and Bernard finished second and third in the 200 back, respectively.
 
White, Bernard, Ellex and Formon (8:01.59) won the 800 free relay and the group changed the order – Ellex, Bernard, Formon and White (3:40.55) to win the 400 free relay.
