The Misericordia University women's volleyball team ended its MAC Freedom regular season schedule with a 3-1 win over Lebanon Valley, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.
The Cougars improved to 23-7 overall and finished in third place at 5-2 in league play.
Meghan Peters had a team-high 16 kills and 14 digs and
Cassandra Genduso had 13 kills and three aces.Â
Jenna Schuda had 10 kills and 38 assists and
Keira McCaffrey had eight blocks.
The Cougars won 25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 25-17.
Genduso and Schuda had back-to-back kills and
Jessica Cleveland had an ace to cap a 5-0 run and give MU a 13-8 lead in the opener.Â
Peters had a kill and an ace to break a 19-19 tie and
Jennifer Nicometo had two kills to close out the win.
The Dutchmen used a 7-2 run to break open a close game on the way to a second-set win.
A kill by Nicometo and a Leb Val error broke a 14-14 tie in the third set.Â
An ace by McCaffrey and three Dutchmen errors gave the Cougars a 22-16 lead. Genduso and Peters had kills to clinch the 25-18 win.
Peters had two straight kills as the Cougars jumped out to a 10-4 lead in the finale.Â
Schuda and Peters combined for three kills to close out the match.
The Cougars will head to Montclair for a tri-match in their regular season finale, Saturday, and will visit DeSales in the MAC Freedom semifinals.
