The Misericordia University rocket league team swept a doubleheader Thursday night from New Jersey City University and Wilkes University to clinch second place in the NECC Eastern Conference.

The Cougars took both matches by identical 3-0 scores.

In the opener against NJCU, the Cougars got off to a quick start as all
Brady Carmody,
Kareem Jefferson and
Chris Dindino all scored goals.  Dindino scored five goals as the Cougars took game two, 7-1. MU rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win game three, 3-2, to complete the sweep.

Misericordia took the opener from Wilkes, 3-2, thanks a late goal from Dindino.

Jefferson trucked through the Wilkes goalkeeper for an all-time bump that led to a goal by Carmody in a 4-2 win in game two.

Dindino scored a hat trick in the finale as the Cougars rallied from a 2-0 deficit to complete the sweep.

Dindino had 16 goals, five assists and five saves on the night while Carmody had five goals, six assists and eight saves and Jefferson added three goals, three assists, eight saves and one bump.

The second-seeded Cougars will be back in action next week with a NECC Eastern Conference Quarter-Final playoff match.
