The Misericordia University volleyball team swept Wilkes, 3-0, Saturday afternoon on Doc Mould Court.
 
Jared Piontkowski led the Cougars with 16 kills and two aces.
 
Anthony DePalma had eight kills and Zane Martin added six.
 
Gannon DeFrain had 33 assists and two blocks.
 
The Cougars took a quick 3-0 lead in the opener on two attack errors and an ace by DeFrain and never trailed in a 25-19 win.
 
Jackson Fehnel's ace and a kill by DeFrain fueled a 5-0 run as the Cougars extended their lead to 15-6.
 
The Cougars used a 7-2 run to break a 15-15 tie in the second set.
 
Piontkowski had kills to start and end the run to give MU a 22-17 lead on the way to a 25-21 win.
 
DePalma had two kills as the Cougars scored five straight points to take a 12-5 lead in the finale.
 
DePalma added back-to-back kills to make it 23-17 and the Cougars went on to win, 25-20.
