The Misericordia University softball team opened its home schedule with a pair of one-run victories over Delaware Valley, Tuesday.

Kaitlin Redling's solo homer in the fourth inning accounted for the only run of the game in a 1-0 win in the opener while
Casey Funesti's pinch-hit two-run homer in the sixth drove in the game-winning run for a come-from-behind 4-3 win.

Redling had two of MU's four hits in the opener and Marissa Kelly scattered nine hits to earn the complete game win.

Mackenzie Fizer had two hits and an RBI in the nightcap and
Nikki Elliott added an RBI.

Jennifer Milisits scattered eight hits to get the win.

Gianna Russo and Elliott hit back-to-back doubles in the bottom of the first to give MU a 1-0 lead in the nightcap.

Down 3-1 in the third, Fizer's two-out double drove in a run to get MU within 3-2.

Kaitlyn Slusser singled with one out in the sixth and Funesti's two-out pinch-hit homer gave the Cougars a 4-3 lead.
