The Misericordia University softball team won its fourth straight game with a sweep in Myrtle Beach, Monday.

The Cougars beat Bridgewater State, 4-2, in the opener, and downed Eastern Nazarene, 12-9, in the nightcap.

Bridget Doherty had three hits and
Casey Funesti hit a two-run homer as MU rallied for three runs in the final two innings against Bridgewater State.

Elizabeth Kelly added two hits and
Jennifer Milisits struck out four to earn the complete-game win.

Doherty opened the game with a triple to left field and
Gianna Russo singled to give MU a 1-0 lead.

The Bears scored a run in each of the first two innings to take the lead and the score held through five innings.

Emily Susanj opened the sixth with a pinch-hit single up the middle and pinch-runner
Emma Griffin scored on Funesti's homer to put the Cougars back in front, 3-2.

Kaitlin Redling led off the seventh with an opposite-field single and pinch-runner Hailey McMenimen eventually gave MU an insurance run on Griffin's single through the left side.

In the nightcap, the Cougars built a 9-0 lead through three innings and held off an Eastern Nazarene rally.

Redling drove in three runs and Russo had two RBI while
Kaitlyn Slusser had three hits and three RBI.

The Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first and added five runs in the second.

Redling drove in MU's first run on a sac fly in the first and
Gianna Foreman followed with an RBI-double.Â
Mackenzie Fizer singled in a run to make it 3-0.

Redling had a two-run single and the Cougars took advantage of three errors to stretch their lead to 8-0 in the second.

Slusser doubled to start the third and later scored on Russo's ground out as MU tacked on a run in the third to stretch the lead to 9-0.
