The Misericordia University men's team lacrosse fell at Western Connecticut State, 17-11, Saturday afternoon.
Connor Bevan led the Cougars with three goals and two assists and
Brendan Stanley added three goals.
Jared Pelliccione and
Ty Murawski scored two goals each.
Travis Burton and
Michael Scarpulla had five ground balls each and
Spencer Sundeberg had four ground balls.
Western Connecticut scored four straight goals in the second quarter to take 7-1 midway through the period.
Down 9-2 early in the third period, the Cougars scored four of the next five goals to get within 10-6.
Stanley and Bevan scored a minute apart to cut the deficit to 9-4 with 8:31 to play in the third.
Stanley scored unassisted with 5:57 to go and Pelliccione got the Cougars within four goal with 2:32 left in the third quarter.
The Wolves responded with three straight goals to take a 13-7 left after three quarters.
Michael Kilgallon III, Stanley and Murawski scored three straight goals as the Cougars made a charge in the fourth quarter.
