The Cougars rallied for two runs in the sixth get within a run in the opener, but left the tying run stranded on second base in each of the last two innings.

Bridget Doherty led the Cougars with two hits in the opener.

Wilkes took a 3-0 lead in the third and the Cougars got a run back in their next at-bat on
Casey Funesti's RBI-infield single.

Wilkes added a run in the fifth and the Cougars responded with a pair of runs in the sixth.Â
Nikki Elliott doubled to center and scored on
Mackenzie Fizer's single to left.Â
Sierra Miller doubled to right center to drive in a run and cut the margin to 4-3.

Lilo Garrett hit a two-run homer and Miller had two hits in the nightcap.

Wilkes took a 7-0 lead in the first inning and led 9-1 after two innings.

Miller led off the fourth inning with a single and Garrett followed with a two-run homer to center.
