The Misericordia University field hockey team extended its winning streak to four games with a 4-0 win over Moravian, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Ashleigh Steele,
Abigail O'Donnell and
Madison Blauch all scored goals as the Cougars improved to 8-2.
After a scoreless first period, the Cougars scored at both ends of the second quarter to take a 2-0 lead.
Off a penalty corner,
Ava Cirigliano's blast from the left wing was stopped, but Pitz was there to tap the rebound inside the left post for a 1-0 lead at 16:45.
With less than a minute to play in the first half, Steele stepped in front of a pass in the Moravian end, touched it past a defender and beat the goalie 1-v-1 to make it 2-0 at 29:17.
The Cougars struck quickly in the third quarter. O'Donnell stripped a defender and split a pair of defenders while dribbling through the circle before slotting a shot past the goalie inside the left post to give MU a 3-0 lead at 32:35.
Misericordia closed out the scoring early in the fourth quarter. Blauch inserted a penalty corner and
Emily Ervin's pass was deflected back to Blauch who buried a shot into an empty net to account for the 4-0 final margin at 47:48.
Sarah Bogina made four saves, including one at the final buzzer, to earn the shutout.
