The #17 nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer remained unbeaten in the MAC Freedom with a 4-0 win, Tuesday night at King's.
Lily Heistand,
Olivia Maniskas and
Joyce Lopez all scored for MU and the Cougars also benefitted from an own-goal to improve to 11-3-1 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom.
MU took an early lead on the Monarchs' own goal in the sixth minute.
Heistand made it 2-0 on a rebound late in the first half.Â
Larissa Evans shot from 10 yards out was saved near the left post, but Heistand buried the rebound at 29:28.
The Cougars added to their led early in the second half when
Caelan Gallagher threaded a pass to Maniskas on the left side of the box.Â
With the Monarchs' keeper out to cut down the angle, Maniskas slotted a shot into the empty net to make it 3-0 at 53:28.
MU used excellent ball movement to generate the final goal of the evening. Lopez played a ball to Evans deep in the right corner where she lofted a service across the box.Â
Kaleigh Horos touched the ball back to Lopez in front where she stuffed a shot into the upper right corner for a 4-0 lead at 72:14.
