The Misericordia University field hockey team won its ninth straight game with 5-0 victory over FDU-Florham, Wednesday night at Mangelsdorf Field.

Madison Lasinski and Madison Blauch scored twice, Celeste Hoffman scored once as Misericordia improved to 13-2 overall and 4-0 in the MAC Freedom.

The Cougars went on the offensive early in the first quarter as Hoffman took the first shot of the night in under a minute and although the goalie made the stop, Lasinski did not give up on the play, tracking the ball down and making a play of her own to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead at 13:37.

The offensive pressure did not let up throughout the quarter as Lasinski took the ball down the field and slipped it off of the goalie to put Misericordia up 2-0 at 4:07. Less than two minutes later the Cougars found themselves in a scoring position again and Lasinski capitalized cutting it past the goalie and into the cage to notch her second goal of the night and give the Cougars a 3-0 lead by the end of the quarter.

The Cougars carried the momentum into the second quarter as Lasinski got past the defense and dished the ball off to Blauch in front of the net for a wide-open score as Misericordia went up 4-0 at 19:10. The last 10 minutes of the quarter were spent defensively as neither team could find an open look to capitalize.

The Cougars continued the offensive onslaught taking many shots throughout the quarter but not finding the mark for the first 14 minutes until a last second shot by Blauch slipped past the goalie into the left corner of the cage as time expired. Blauch notched her second goal as Misericordia goes up 5-0.
