The Misericordia men's soccer team suffered a close 2-1 loss to Delaware Valley, Tuesday evening at Mangelsdorf Field.

Brody Eisenhart scored the goal for the Cougars off a Shane Macko assist.

The Aggies scored early into the first half on a kick from just outside the top of the box to take a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute.

Delaware Valley took their second shot a few minutes later which was easily saved by Santino Jannotte.

The Cougars couldn't get a good look until Kohen Stiles attempt from the right flank was covered near the right post in the 22^nd minute.

The Aggies only shot for the remainder of the half missed high while the Cougars were unable to convert on either of their attempts.

Delaware Valley went on the offensive early in the second half and found the back of the net in the 51st minute and taking a 2-0 lead.

The Cougars started to get aggressive offensively, forcing three corner kicks from the 52nd minute until the 56th minute, but were unable to convert.

Possession time was mostly dominated by Misericordia for much of the second half as they managed to keep the ball on the offensive side of the field and slowly started to find looks at the net.

With less than 10 minutes left, Macko floated a ball from the right edge of the box to Eisenhart, whose volley caromed off the inside of the left post across the goal mouth into the right side netting to cut the deficit to 2-1 at 80:45.

The Cougars took three more shots over the final nine minutes, but were unable to find a clean look as the Aggies managed to hold on.
