MU Hosting Lebanon Valley in MAC Freedom Volleyball Semifinals

The Misericordia University women's volleyball team will open the postseason when the Cougars host Lebanon Valley in a MAC Freedom Semifinal, Wednesday at 7:00 pm in the Anderson Center.

The Cougars are 21-9 overall and earned the top seed for the first time in program history after finishing 7-0 in the MAC Freedom.  Lebanon Valley is seeded fourth after finishing 12-14 overall and 4-3 in the MAC Freedom.

Misericordia won the regular season meeting, 3-1, a week ago.

Second-seeded Stevens will host DeSales in the other semifinal at 7:30.  The winners will meet for the MAC Freedom title, Saturday.

Misericordia is second in the league in team hitting (.216), team blocks (1.72/set) and aces (2.54/set).

MU's Keira McCaffrey leads the league in hitting (.404) and blocks (1.03/set).  Jenna Schuda leads the MAC Freedom with 8.39 assists/set and is second with .62 aces/set.

Meghan Peters is seventh in the league with 2.7 kills/set while Maggie Duda is 10th with 3.11 digs/set and .43 aces/set.

The Cougars are making their seventh consecutive postseason appearance.

The Dutchmen are making their fourth straight trip to the postseason, including three in the MAC Freedom.

Mattea Penner leads the team and is eighth in the MAC Freedom in hitting percentage at .250 while Teaguen Reynolds is 12th at .228.

Penner leads the league with 3.27 kills per set while Reynolds is fourth with .75 blocks per set.  Jillian Jefferys (6th), Margaret Cole (7th) and Libby Lindau (10th) are all in the top 10 in the league in blocks per set.
