The Misericordia University football team ended the regular season with a 27-21 win over King's, Saturday afternoon at Mangelsdorf Field.

The Cougars improved to 7-3 overall and finished tied for second place in the MAC at 7-2.

Jacob Hunter threw for 293 yards and
Angelo Fluri ran for a score and threw for another.

Jordan Alston had nine catches for 70 yards and two scores and
Jassan Whittaker had 10 catches for 155 yards.

Misericordia will make its third postseason appearance in the MAC-Centennial Bowl series against an opponent to be determined next weekend.

MU moved deep into King's territory on each of its first nine possessions of the game.

Misericordia took the opening kickoff and marched 65 yards to take a 7-0 lead.

Hunter connected with Alston and Whittaker to move into King's territory on MU's first possession.

Facing first-and-15, Hunter rolled right and threw a strike down the right sideline to
Anthony Rucci to set up first and goal.

Fluri went in from four yards out to give MU a 7-0 lead less than four minute into the game.

MU got the ball right back on
Jordan Chmielewski made a leaping interception along the right sideline and returned it to midfield.

Fluri took a toss and rolled to his left before hitting a wide-open Alston for a 30-yard touchdown to make it 14-0 midway through the first quarter.

King's answered with a lengthy scoring drive on its next possession and MU responded with a lengthy scoring drive on its next drive. Hunter capped the drive with a keeper on fourth-and-goal to give MU a 21-7 lead.

The Cougars threatened again later in the half, but lost a fumble inside the one-yard line.

King's needed just two plays to score on the opening drive of the third quarter and make it 21-14.

Alston made a leaping catch in the back of the end zone to give MU a 27-14 lead with 8:29 to go.
