The Misericordia University cheer team welcomed 49 teams to the Anderson Center for the 21st Annual Cougar Cheer Challenge, November 2.

Participating programs ranged in age from youth recreational teams through high school programs. Â The Kingston Huskies were Grand Champs of the Mini and Youth Recreational Divisions while the Plains Yankees 11U team was the Grand Champs of the Junior/Senior Recreational Divisions.

Southern Columbia varsity earned high score in the performance routine to earn the 2025 Grand Champion title in the high school division.

Participating teams and spectators were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to compete for the 'Charity Cup' and earn free registration to next year's event.

The Plains Yankees brought in the most donations in the morning recreational session while the Crestwood Comets won the Charity Cup in the school session.

More than 1,600 non-perishable food items were brought in throughout the day and were distributed to various local food pantries.
