Matt Prociak had a double-double to lead the Misericordia University men's basketball team to a 95-67 win over Penn State Abington, Monday night on Doc Mould Court.
Prociak had 19 points and 10 rebounds and
D.J. Orloff added 12 points and six rebounds.Â
Jack Gallagher,
Eli Stoute and
Nate Townsend all had nine points as 14 player found the scoring column for MU.
The Cougars took control of the game with a 22-10 run over the final 10 minutes of the first half.
Orloff's putback gave the Cougars a 27-18 lead and Stoute followed with a left-handed scoop shot to make it 29-18 with 8:26 to go in the first half.
Prociak hit a deep three-pointer from the top of the key and added a back-door layup on the next possession to extend the lead to 34-18.
Gallagher scored two straight buckets, including a floater in the lane, to cap a 15-0 run to give MU a 38-18 lead with 4:11 to go.
After a Penn State basket, Stoute answered with a three-pointer from in front of the PSU bench and
Ryan Nasuti followed with a three-pointer from the left corner to make it 44-22 with 2:59 left.
Prociak added a three-pointer to close out the first half scoring with MU up, 47-28.
The Lions never got closer than 17 in the second half.
Misericordia will travel to D-I Cornell for an exhibition game, Wednesday at noon.
