The #16 nationally-ranked Misericordia University women's soccer team will open the postseason when it hosts Arcadia in a MAC Freedom Semifinal, Tuesday, November 4 at 7:00 at Mangelsdorf Field.
Misericordia, 14-3-1, is the top seed after finishing unbeaten in the MAC Freedom for the fifth straight season. Fourth-seeded Arcadia is 11-3-3 overall and finished 4-2-1 in the MAC Freedom.
The Cougars won the regular season meeting at Arcadia, 4-0, 10 days ago. This is the second straight postseason meeting between MU and Arcadia. The Cougars won last year's semifinal, 5-1, and have won six straight against the Knights.
Misericordia has won four straight MAC Freedom championships and is making its 16th consecutive postseason appearance.
Second-seeded Stevens will host third-seeded Lebanon Valley in the other semifinal with the winner's advancing to the MAC Freedom final, Saturday.
MU led the MAC Freedom in scoring during and scoring defense in the regular season with 54 goals and just nine goals allowed.
Olivia Maniskas is third in the league with 10 goals while
Lily Heistand,
Caelan Gallagher and Esa Mendola are tied for sixth with six goals each.
Misericordia utilized a balanced attack throughout the season as 17 different players scored at least one goal.
Lauren Mondor led the league with a .560 GAA during the regular season.
Arcadia's Sadie Nugent is fifth in the league with eight goals and Abby Stephens is next with six.
Arcadia's Abigail Fuchs is second in the league with an 83.1 save %.
