The Misericordia University hockey team opened its MAC schedule with a 4-1 loss at Arcadia, Friday night.

Jack Tos scored for the Cougars with an assist from Corbin Scheibel.

Arcadia tied the score early in the second period and scored three goals in a 10-minute span in the third period.

Brendan Vettraino won a face-off and Scheibel fed Tos for a power-play goal just five seconds into the penalty at 18:02 of the first period.

The Cougars killed off a penalty at 4:05 of the second period, but the Knights scored just 10 seconds later to the score, 1-1.

MU threatened to go back in front late in the second period.  Tos and Vettraino combined for three shots in a 15-second span and Jonathon Lush hit the post as time expired.

The Knights went in front at 6:47 of the third period and added an insurance goal at 8:03.

Arcadia closed out the scoring 16:33.

Mason Jones had 37 saves for the Cougars.

Misericordia will return to Glenside for a 1:40 start against Arcadia, Saturday.
