The #16 Misericordia University men's volleyball team opened its MAC schedule with a 3-0 sweep of King's, Thursday night on Doc Mould Court.
 
The Cougars won 25-22, 25-18, 25-21 to extend its win streak to four and improve to 14-7 overall and 1-0 in the MAC.
 
Jared Piontkowski led the Cougars with 20 kills, two aces and two blocks.  Anthony DePalma had 14 kills and two aces and Jackson Fehnel had 10 kills.
 
Gannon DeFrain had 37 assists.
 
King's led early in the first set until a service error put the Cougars in front for good, 20-19.
 
DePalma had an ace to make it 22-20 and Fehnel's kill and two King's errors closed a 25-22 win.
 
DePalma had three kills in a four-point span to give the Cougars an 11-8 lead in the second set. 
 
Piontkowski had four kills and an ace extended MU's lead to 18-12.
 
Piontkowski, DePalma and Benjamin Clendening had kills as the Cougars closed on a 5-1 run to win 25-18.
 
After falling behind 7-1 in the finale, Piontkowski had four kills and an ace and DePalma had a kill and an ace as part of an 8-2 run to give MU a 20-16 lead.
 
Logan Romeika had an ace and DePalma had two kills as MU closed on the 4-2 run to win 25-21.
