The Misericordia University softball team opened its northern schedule with a 12-2, 11-5 sweep at Rosemont, Wednesday.
Sierra Miller had two hits and four RBI in the opener and
Mackenzie Fizer and
Avery Gleason added two hits each.
Edna Kiefer drove in two runs and
Rylie Nasso, Fizer and Gleason all scored twice.
Down 1-0, the Cougars scored four times in the top of the third and exploded for seven runs in the fifth to put the game away.
Miller had a two-run double in the third and fifth innings.
Jennifer Milisits worked three innings to get the win.
Nasso and
Gianna Russo had three hits each in the nightcap and
Bridget Doherty, Nasso, Russo, Fizer and
Emily Susanj all drove in two runs.
Marisa Kelly scattered eight hits over seven innings to earn the win.
Doherty had a two-run single and Russo tripled in a run as the Cougars sealed the win with four runs in the top of the seventh.
