The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team dropped a tough 9-7 decision to Widener, Saturday at Mangelsdorf Field.
 
Delaney Campanella led the Cougars with three goals and Rachel Shook had a goal and an assist.
 
Shook and Alicia Pileggi scored the first two goals of the game to give MU a 2-0 lead less than three minutes into the game.
 
Widener answered with four straight goals to take a 4-2 lead midway through the second quarter.
 
Campanella scored her first goal to get MU within a goal with 8:55 to go in the first half.
 
Widener scored twice late in the second quarter and twice in the third quarter to take an 8-3 lead.
 
Campanella scored twice in the fourth period as the Cougars cut the margin to 9-7 with 5:27 to go.
