The Misericordia University baseball team extended its win streak to three games after defeating Heidelberg, 15-13, Thursday afternoon in Ft. Pierce, FL.

Drew Van Horn and
Gabe Bunn led the way with three RBI on two hits, including a triple.
Owen Daminger had three hits and two RBI while
Owen Cordner knocked in two runs with a double.

Luke Leventhall earned his second win of the season, tossing seven strikeouts through 4.2 innings on the mound.
Aidan Paduck picked up his first save of the season.

Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Cordner doubled to center field, allowing Bunn and Van Horn to score as MU took a 2-1 lead.

The Student Princes put up two runs in the top of the fourth to reclaim the lead, 3-2.

In the bottom half of the inning, Bunn worked a leadoff walk and came around to tie the game on a double to left center by Daminger.Â

Heidelberg scored two runs in the fifth and tacked on two more in the sixth to take a 7-3 lead.

The Cougars turned on the jets in the bottom of the sixth, starting with
Jared Hoffman reaching on a fielder's choice with the bases loaded to bring home Van Horn.

Brooks Kanwisher ripped a pinch-hit single to score Bunn from third base, making it a 7-5 ballgame.
Jack Regenye kept the train rolling with a single to right field that brought Hoffman home, bringing MU within a run of tying the game.

With the bases juiced,
Jake McDonough worked a walk to force in a run and tie the game at 7-7.
Brian Korchok then reached on an error as Regenye scored as Misericordia went back on top by a score of 8-7. Van Horn returned to the batter's box and unleashed a bases-clearing triple to right center as the Cougars took an 11-7 lead. Bunn tacked on another run with a sacrifice bunt to cap off a nine-run inning.

Bunn provided Misericordia with two more runs in the bottom of the eighth, raking a triple to right field that scored Gavin McCaffery and
Rafael Fernandez. The Cougars now held a commanding 15-8 lead and only needed to find three more outs.

The Student Princes made things interesting in the top of the ninth frame, scoring five runs to pull themselves within two of tying the game. On a two-out single to right field, a Heidelberg baserunner attempted to take an extra base and was gunned down at third by
Ethan Elmes to end the game.

The Cougars conclude their slate of games in Ft. Pierce against Susquehanna, tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
