The Misericordia University women's lacrosse team clinched a MAC Freedom postseason berth with a 15-14, come-from-behind win at FDU-Florham, Saturday.
Alicia Pileggi scored five goals, including the game-winner, and
Ashtyn Torbert had four goals and seven draw controls.
Delaney Campanella scored three goals and had five ground balls and four draw controls while
Rachel Shook had a goal and three assists and five draw controls.
The Cougars trailed throughout most of the contest and only led three times on the day.
Shook scored in the opening minute to put MU in front, but FDU-Florham scored twice in a one-minute span to take a 2-1 lead midway through the first period.
MU didn't lead again until Torbert scored early in the fourth quarter.
Down 12-8 late in the third quarter,
Jenna Jacques, Pileggi and Campanella all scored in a 1:01 span to get the Cougars within 12-11.
Pileggi tied it with 1:33 to go in the third period.
Torbert scored twice early in the fourth quarter to give MU a 14-13 lead, but FDU-Florham tied it with 9:07 to play.
Pileggi scored the game-winner with 6:19 and the MU defense posted a shutout over the final 9:07.
The Cougars will travel to Stevens in the MAC Freedom semifinals.
