The Misericordia University men's basketball team grabbed a 74-57 victory over Delaware Valley, Wednesday night on Doc Mould Court.

Ryan Nasuti led the Cougars with 17 points while
Jack Gallagher recorded another double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Eli Stoute added 12 points,
Matt Prociak had 11 and
Arvel Chandler finished with 10.Â
Darryl Wright had nine assists.

The opening minutes were a defensive battle with both teams forcing turnovers on consecutive possessions.

Delaware Valley built an early 9-4 lead before Stoute knocked down a three-pointer from the top of the key to spark the Cougars' offense.

Trailing 11-7,
Darryl Wright connected on a three from the right wing to pull Misericordia within one.

With just under 13 minutes remaining in the half, Nasuti buried a deep three from the right side to tie the game at 13-13.

A free throw from Gallagher and a three-pointer by Prociak followed, giving the Cougars a 17-13 advantage.

The Aggies answered with a layup, but Nasuti responded with another three to extend the lead to 20-15 midway through the half.

Misericordia continued to build momentum, closing the half on a 19-5 run to take a 41-25 lead into the break.

The Cougars stayed hot to start the second half, opening on an 8-2 run that included back-to-back three-pointers.

The stretch was capped by a steal and slam dunk from Stoute, pushing the lead to 49-29.

Delaware Valley mounted a late second-half rally to cut the deficit to 11, but Misericordia responded by extending the lead and closing out the 74-57 win.
