The Misericordia University women's basketball team to Lebanon Valley, 45-32, Saturday afternoon in the Anderson Center.
Morgan Janeski led the Cougars with 10 points while Caitlin Landgraf grabbed 11 rebounds.
Landgraf scored the first basket for the Cougars with a turnaround layup.
Lebanon Valley took a 6-2 lead, but Misericordia responded with an 8-3 run to close the quarter.
Emily Romanowski started the run with a three-pointer from the top of the arc and Marisa Captoni followed with a three-pointer from the left corner to give the Cougars an 8-6 lead with 4:43 remaining.
After a Flying Dutchmen basket, Romanowski hit a putback jumper to reclaim the lead. Misericordia held a 10-9 advantage after one quarter.
Janeski started the second quarter off strong, scoring the first eight points for the Cougars. She made a turnaround jumper from the left block, and back-to-back three-pointers from the right wing and the top of the arc to give MU an 18-12 lead with 8:05 to go in the quarter.
Lebanon Valley, however, closed the half on an 8-0 run to take a 20-18 lead at halftime.
Romanowski tied up the game at 20 at the start of the third quarter with a layup from a long pass.
From there, Lebanon Valley dominated the rest of the quarter, going on a 13-3 run that was only interrupted by a Lizzy Mitchell free throw and driving layup. With 10 minutes left in the matchup, the Flying Dutchmen led 33-23.
Raegan Palmer knocked down free throws to open the fourth quarter. Lebanon Valley scored six straight points, but Misericordia answered with a Janeski jumper from the right elbow. Landgraf accounted for the next five Cougar points with a driving layup and three free throws to cut LVC's lead to nine with 1:09 left.
