Angelo Fluri has been named the Misericordia University Wendy's Male Athlete of the Month for September while
Madison Hedglin and
Keira McCaffrey shared the women's honor.

A senior running back, Fluri led the football team to a 3-1 record during the month.

He is tied for the league lead with seven touchdowns and is eighth in the league with 49 yards rushing per game.

He scored a touchdown in the season-opener against Hartwick and scored twice in a 27-21 loss at Eastern. He scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner, in a 27-24 win over Stevenson, and added a score in a 15-14 win at Albright.

Hedglin, a sophomore, has been the top runner on the cross country team in each of their first three meets. She won the Cougar Classic and Misericordia Invitational.

She was the top D-III finisher and placed third overall with the fourth-fastest time in school history at Lock Haven.

McCaffrey, a junior, led the volleyball team to a 7-5 record during the month.

She leads the MAC Freedom with 1.32 blocks per set and is second in the league in hitting percentage (.362).

McCaffrey is tied for third in the league with .55 aces per set.
Â
She had a season-high nine blocks in a win at Montclair and has three blocks three times.
